The Coastal Arts Guild of CT is announcing a call for artists for Stratford Library for Art & Text, A project of Art Spaces in Fairfield County, a consortium of 13 libraries in Fairfield County who offer curated visual art exhibitions.

The show is open to 2D and 3D works of art which combine visual imagery with letterforms, words and phrases. 2D submissions can be paintings, collage, photography, graphics and design. 3D works can be made from any material, but please note the size limitations below.
2D and 3D works in any medium which interpret the theme of Text & Art.
Artists can submit up to two pieces. 2D works can be no larger than 24″ x 36″ (dimensions include the frame). 3D works will be displayed in an enclosed glass shelf unit. Max dimensions for works displayed inside the shelf unit is 12″ (H) X 11″ (W) X 11″ (D). There is limited space on top of the shelf unit for some taller pieces. Base for work on the top shelf can be no wider than 14″ X 14″.
There are no submission fees for this show.
Availability of display space
The designated gallery area and adjacent wall space can accommodate up to 30 2-dimensional pieces and the glass shelf unit can accommodate a limited number of pieces. Submissions will be on a first come, first served basis. When the number of submissions reaches capacity, the call for artists will end.
The work will be hung on Friday, November 1st by the artists. Each artist will bring their work to Stratford Library during library hours and hang their work in the gallery section or on adjacent wall space. 2D works must be securely wired for hanging or will not be accepted. 3D pieces will be placed in the glass shelf unit with the assistance of library staff.
Close of show
Artists will need to pick up their work from the library on Tuesday, December 31 during library hours. If you cannot come on this date, contact Tom Holehan at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a date and time for pick-up. Artwork left at the Stratford Library more than 7 days, without prior arrangement, becomes the property of the library.
